Homemade Fry Sauce

Our oldest grandchild was married last week! She had requested a French fry bar at the reception. I’ve never heard of such a thing but I am always up for new ideas and so we made it happen. It was great and a very welcome change from the typical reception foods. In the planning of things, I needed to come up with a few dipping sauces and seasonings. I made a batch of the curried blueberry ketchup featured at the restaurant and I also decided to make some fry sauce. I have never made fry sauce ever in my life and so I went online. After looking over a few recipes I came up with what I felt was a solid list of ingredients. A potato or a sweet potato needs a little complexity. So the recipe calls for quite a few ingredients, but they are items you probably already have in your fridge and pantry. I store the sauce in squirt bottles so it can be grabbed and used quickly for anything. You can also use it as salad dressing, a squirt on vegetables, sandwiches, hot dogs, hard boiled eggs….the list goes on. If you anticipate using it liberally, I would suggest making the full batch since it will keep for a long time. Otherwise, cut in half or fourths. You can pretty much tweak all the ingredients according to your taste and add any ingredients you think might make it even better. RECIPE: 4 C mayo 2 C ketchup 1 TB Worcestershire sauce 1/4 C dill pickle juice from jar 1/2 tsp smoked paprika 1/2 tsp paprika 1/4 tsp cayenne 1 tsp dry mustard 1 tsp onion powder Combine all ingredients and mix well
